About  the Music Society

We provide students with...

  • Great, regular masterclasses with external professionals.

  • Major concert experiences, both in and out of Durham.

  • A weekly email telling you about concerts, offers, part-time work and other opportunities.

  • Discounts on a range of concerts and MUSICON season tickets.

  • Student lunchtime recitals.

  • Eligibility for a wide range of funding - including PwC grants

  • We also coordinate, organise and promote the musical calendar across Durham.

Forum

Music Society forums are open to all music society presidents and provide a space to discuss music provision at Durham University. Common issues discussed include collaboration, funding, coordination of events and use of equipment, societies' needs and the direction of Durham University music more widely.

The Future Sounds Good

We are designed particularly to ensure unity among the many music ensembles in Durham and to coordinate and promote music making around the city. There is plenty of music to be getting involved in throughout Durham so please don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions or need any advice!

President's Notes

Durham University Music Society has gone from strength to strength over the past few years, thanks, in no small part, to the student body here, who care about the future of the musical activites.

It is truly an exciting time to be a musician in Durham!

We’d love to hear from you!
